i'm uploading old pictures of myself to construct an accurate representation of what i looked like at the time that i created each of these individual projects because i'm realizing that it is something that i need to do to prevent people from making false projections or incorrect assumptions. i did realize i was transgendered when i was young, but i did not seek medical attention until 2001 and did not go into transition until 2002, then paused it over 2003 before resorting to natural hormones as a stop-gap solution from 2004 to 2009, when i went back into permanent transition.

i was forced/coerced into shaving my head in mid 1997 because i had to get a job and this was how much had grown back by the start of 1998. i turned 17 in jan, 1998. the picture is actually from march, 1998, and will be the period 1.2 profile picture; this is what i actually looked like as i was creating the core of the music for the inri period, over 1998.

period 1.2 is the industrial synth-pop period, where i gained access to some electronic instruments and then converted the noise rock demos i did in 1996-97 into post-industrial electronic compositions.

inri was my (jessica's) childhood screen name and musical project from 1996-1999. while i explored a wide variety of musical styles in the process of finding myself and in the end emerged as the musician i am today, i was fundamentally a young blues guitarist at the time and everything is consequently rooted in hendrix/corgan guitargeekdom. the music is of the punk era. pic from late 1996. ... more
